Dar Talisman My dear brothers and sisters, this is the Great Supplication of Jawshan, or the Supplication of a Thousand Names, or the Supplication of the Great Shield, as it was named by the Sufi sheikhs in Turkey. It was passed down through generations of sheikhs, and we have confirmed through experience and investigation its great and lasting effects on it, its bearer, and those who recite it. We decided to write it down and share it with you in its entirety. The sale is a gift of the blessings of this noble supplication and its writing. A knowledgeable sheikh writes the supplication in its entirety and recites it several times on the written paper at a specific time—an auspicious hour for every good deed and supplication—facing the qibla.

Then it is perfumed, fumigated, and sealed with pure royal jelly mixed with amber, musk, oud, rose, and sandalwood. It is then placed in a silver case or a special pouch made specifically for this amulet, sealed, and fumigated again while reciting verses for protection and blessings. It is then ready and complete. This process is not simple; it requires time, effort, and concentration. The amulet is sent complete and ready. For the student, it is carried sealed and preserved, so that it can be carried at any time, place, and location without being damaged or invalidated, because it is sealed, perfumed, and has a wondrous effect and numerous benefits. I hope to search, even briefly, on the internet for the benefits and narrations of this great and sublime supplication.

Here are some of the narrations and transmissions about this supplication and its benefits: Among the well-known supplications is the Supplication of Jawshan al-Kabir, which is narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family. It was narrated by a group of our later companions, may God be pleased with them. Al-Kaf'ami and others said: Summary of the explanation of the Supplication of Jawshan: This supplication is of high standing, great rank, and sublime value.

It is narrated from al-Sajjad Zayn al-Abidin, from his father, from his grandfather Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family: "Gabriel, peace be upon him, descended with it upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, while he was on one of his battles, and the battle had intensified. He was wearing a heavy armor that was causing him pain, so he supplicated to God Almighty. Then Gabriel, peace be upon him, descended and said, 'O Muhammad, your Lord sends you greetings and says to you: Take off this armor and recite this supplication, for it is a protection.'" For you and your nation, whoever reads it upon leaving his house, or carries it, God will protect him, grant him Paradise, and guide him to righteous deeds.

It will be as if he has read the four books (the Quran and Sunnah), and for every letter he will be given two wives in Paradise and two houses in Paradise. He will be given the reward of Abraham, Moses, and Jesus, and the reward of a creation of God in a white land beyond the west: they worship God Almighty and do not disobey Him for even a moment. Their skin is torn from weeping out of fear of God, and only God knows their number. The sun's journey through their land takes forty days, O Muhammad. And the Inhabited House in the seventh heaven is entered by seventy thousand angels every day, and they leave and do not return to it until the Day of Resurrection.

And God Almighty will give whoever reads this supplication the reward of those angels, and He will give him the reward of all believing men and women from among God's creation until the Day of Resurrection. And whoever writes it and keeps it in his house, it will not be stolen or burned. And whoever writes it on gazelle parchment or paper and carries it will be safe from everything. And whoever supplicates with it and then dies, he will die a martyr, and the reward of nine hundred thousand martyrs will be written for him. The martyrs of Badr, and God looked upon him and granted him what he asked for. Whoever recites it seventy times with pure intention, regardless of the illness, will be cured of madness, leprosy, or vitiligo. And whoever writes in Take a jar of camphor or musk, wash it, and sprinkle it on the shroud of a deceased person.

God Almighty will send down a thousand lights into his grave, protect him from the terrors of Munkar and Nakir, lift the torment of the grave from him, and send seventy thousand angels to his grave to give him glad tidings of Paradise, comfort him, open a door to Paradise for him, and expand his grave as far as his eye can see. Whoever writes it on his shroud, God Almighty will be too ashamed to punish him with Hellfire. God Almighty wrote this supplication on the pillars of the Throne fifty thousand years before He created the world. Whoever supplicates with it with pure intention at the beginning of Ramadan, God Almighty will grant him the reward of Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree), and create seventy thousand angels for him who glorify and sanctify God. He will make their reward for whoever supplicates with it.

O Muhammad, whoever supplicates with it, there will be no veil between him and God Almighty, and he will not ask God Almighty for anything except that He will grant it to him. God will send seventy thousand angels to him when he emerges from his grave, each angel holding the reins of a noble steed of light, its belly of pearl, its back of emerald, and its legs of ruby. On the back of each noble steed is a dome. It is made of light, and it has four hundred doors. On each door is a curtain of silk and brocade. In each dome are a thousand maidservants. On the head of each maidservant is a crown of red gold. From them emanates the most fragrant musk. All of that is given to him. Then God sends to him seventy thousand angels, with each angel a cup of white pearls, in which is a drink from Paradise.

On each cup is written: There is no god but God alone, He has no partner. A gift from the Almighty Creator to so-and-so, son of so-and-so. And God Almighty calls to him, “O My servant, enter Paradise without reckoning.” O Muhammad, whoever recites this supplication three times or even once during the month of Ramadan, God will forbid his body from the Fire, Paradise will be guaranteed for him, and God will appoint two angels to protect him from sins. He will be under God's protection throughout his life and at his death. O Muhammad, do not teach it except to a pious believer, and do not teach it to a polytheist, lest he ask for something and be given it. (Bihar al-Anwar – Allamah Majlisi – Vol. 91 / p.

382) Our sheikhs have instructed us to recite this supplication according to its obligatory and correct conditions: sincerity of intention and faith in God Almighty; purity of body and place, and it is recommended to use perfume or good incense with a pleasant fragrance; two opening rak'ahs as an act of worship to God Almighty and two concluding rak'ahs as an expression of gratitude to God Almighty; reciting Surah Al-Fatihah seven times, firstly for the soul of the best of creation, our master Muhammad, and for the souls of the pure members of the Prophet's family, and for the souls of all the prophets and messengers of God, and for the souls of the truthful, the righteous, and those who follow them with goodness, and for the soul of the one who transmits and narrates the supplication, and for the soul of the one who publishes and writes it, and for the soul of the one who recites it.

I advise my believing brothers and sisters to recite this supplication. For their safety and the safety of those concerned, especially our oppressed brothers and sisters among the believers throughout the world, and for anyone in need, or who desires healing from illness or disease, or to ward off calamity, repel the oppressor, free the imprisoned, and other such matters, this supplication should be recited and used. Giving charity, even a small amount, as an act of devotion to God and for the acceptance of supplications is also recommended. On the authority of Abd al-Salam ibn Salih al-Harawi, who said: I heard Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Musa al-Rida (peace be upon them both) say: “May God have mercy on the servant who revives our cause.” I said to him: How does one revive your cause?

He (peace be upon him) said: “By learning our knowledge and teaching it to the people, for if the people knew the beauty of our words, they would follow us.” Source: Uyun Akhbar al-Rida (peace be upon him) Peace be upon you) – by Sheikh Al-Saduq (may God have mercy on him) – (2/276) Imam Al-Hussein (peace be upon him) said: “My father, peace be upon him, instructed me to preserve and venerate it, to write it on his shroud, to teach it to my family and urge them to it, and it is a thousand names and a name.” Bihar Al-Anwar – Allamah Al-Majlisi – (Vol. 91 / p.

382) And he (peace be upon him) said: My father, the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), said: O my son, shall I not teach you a secret from the secrets of God Almighty, which the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family, taught me, and it was one of his secrets that no one was informed of? I said: Yes, O my father, may I be sacrificed for you. He (peace be upon him) said: The trustworthy spirit, Gabriel, peace be upon him, descended upon the Messenger of God (may God bless him and his family) on a Sunday, the day of Uhud, and it was a terrible day, very hot, and the Prophet (may God bless him and his family) had a coat of mail that could not be carried because of the intense heat and the heat of the coat of mail.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: I raised my head towards the sky and prayed to God Almighty. I saw the gates of heaven open, and the angel Gabriel (peace be upon him) descended upon me with a ring of light. He said to me: “Peace be upon you, O Messenger of God.” I replied: “Peace be upon you, my brother Gabriel.” He said: “The Most High sends you greetings and bestows upon you special honor and respect. He tells you to take off this armor and recite this supplication.

When you recite it and carry it, it will be like the armor on your body.” I said: “O my brother Gabriel, is this supplication specifically for me and my nation?” He (peace be upon him) said: “O Messenger of God, this is a gift from God Almighty to you and your nation.” I said to him: “O my brother Gabriel, what is the reward for this supplication?” He (peace be upon him) said: “O Prophet of God, the reward for this supplication is known only to God, for whoever recites this supplication upon leaving his house at dawn or dusk, God Almighty will join him with righteous deeds.

It is in the Torah, the Gospel, the Psalms, the Quran, and the Scrolls of Abraham.” I said: “O my brother Gabriel, does God give this reward to everyone who recites this supplication?” He (peace be upon him) said: “Yes, and for every letter, He gives him two wives from among the houris.

When he finishes reciting it, God builds for him a house in Paradise, and He gives him a reward equal to the number of letters in the Torah, the Gospel, the Psalms, and the Great Quran.” I said: “Is all this reward for whoever recites this supplication?” He (peace be upon him) said: “Yes, O Messenger of God, by the One Who sent you with the truth as a Prophet and Messenger, God Almighty gives him a reward like that of Abraham, the Friend of God, Moses, the Interlocutor, Jesus, the Trustworthy Spirit, and Muhammad, the Beloved.” I said: “Is all this reward for the one who recites this supplication?” He (peace be upon him) said: “Yes, O Messenger of God, whoever recites this supplication and carries it will have more than what you mentioned.

By the One Who sent you with the truth as a prophet, beyond the west there is a white land in which there are creatures of God Almighty who worship Him and do not disobey Him. Their flesh and faces have been torn apart from weeping. So God revealed to them: Why do you weep, and why do you not disobey Me for even a moment? They said: We fear that God will be angry with us and punish us with fire. Ali (peace be upon him) said: I said: O Messenger of God, is there no Iblis or any of the children of Adam there? He (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: By the One Who sent me with the truth as a prophet, they do not know that God created Adam or Iblis, and no one can count their number except God. The sun travels in their land for forty days, and they do not eat or drink.

And God Almighty will give the one who recites this supplication the reward of their number and their worship.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: “Will he give them the reward for all of this?” He (peace be upon him) said: “By the One Who sent you with the truth as a Prophet, God Almighty has built a house in the fourth heaven called the Inhabited House. Seventy thousand angels enter it every day, and they leave it and do not return to it until the Day of Resurrection.

And God Almighty gives him the reward of these angels, and He gives him a reward equal to the number of believing men and women from among mankind and jinn, from the day God created them until the Day the Trumpet is blown.” He (peace be upon him) also said: “By the One Who sent you with the truth as a Prophet, whoever writes this supplication in a clean vessel with rainwater and saffron, then washes it and drinks as much as he can, God Almighty will cure him of every disease in his body and heal him from every illness and ailment.” I said: “O my brother Gabriel, is all this virtue for this supplication?

And does God give all this reward to its reciter?” He (peace be upon him) said: “By the One who sent you with the truth as a prophet, whoever reads it will die the death of martyrs.” I said: Are they martyrs of the sea or martyrs of the land?

He (peace be upon him) said: “By Him Who sent you with the truth as a Prophet, God Almighty will write for him the reward of seven hundred thousand martyrs of righteousness.” I said: “O my brother Gabriel, will God give him all this reward?” He (peace be upon him) said: “By Him Who sent you with the truth as a Prophet, on the night a person recites this supplication, God will turn to him and look upon him, and give him all that he asks for of the needs of this world and the Hereafter.” I said: “O my brother Gabriel, tell me more.” He (peace be upon him) said: “On the night this supplication is recited, God will repel from him the evil of the devils and their plots, and He will accept all his deeds and purify his wealth, and likewise the deeds of the believing men and women.” I said: “O my brother Gabriel, tell me more.” He (peace be upon him) said: “O Messenger of God, Israfil told me: God said: ‘By My might and majesty, whoever believes in Me and believes in you, O Messenger of God, and believes in this supplication, I will give him a kingdom.

And I am God, My treasures are never diminished nor My bounty ever exhausted. And if I were to grant Paradise to one of My believing servants, it would not diminish My treasures by a little or a lot.’” O Muhammad, I am the One who, when I want something, says to it: Be! And it is what I want. When I give a servant a gift, I give it according to My greatness, My authority, and My power. O Muhammad, if one of My servants were to recite it with a pure intention and true certainty seventy times over the heads of the people of affliction in this world from leprosy, vitiligo, and madness, I would cure them of that and remove it from their bodies. Blessed is he who believes in God, affirms His Prophet, and believes in this supplication and its reward. Woe, all woe, to him who denies it, rejects it, and does not believe in it.

O Prophet of God, if a person were to write this supplication in a bowl with camphor and musk, wash it, and sprinkle it on the shroud of a deceased person, God would send down upon him in his grave one hundred thousand lights. God would avert from him the terror of Munkar and Nakir, and he would be safe from the torment of the grave. God would send to him in his grave seventy thousand angels, each angel carrying a tray of light which they would scatter upon him. They would carry him to Paradise and say to him: “God, Blessed and Exalted is He, has commanded us to do this, and we will comfort you until the Day of Resurrection.” God would expand his grave as far as his eye could see, and God would open for him a door to Paradise, which they would close like a bride in her bridal chamber, due to the sanctity and greatness of this supplication.

God, the Exalted, says: “I am ashamed before a servant whose shroud bears this supplication.” Gabriel said: “O Muhammad, I heard the Creator say: ‘This supplication was written on the canopy of the Throne before I created the world.’” Five thousand years, and any servant who calls upon God with this supplication with a sincere and pure intention, without any doubt, at the beginning of the month of Ramadan, God will give him the reward of the Night of Decree. God creates seventy thousand angels in every heaven, seventy thousand angels in Jerusalem, seventy thousand angels in the East, and seventy thousand angels in the West.

Each angel has twenty thousand heads, in each head are twenty thousand mouths, in each mouth are twenty thousand tongues, glorifying God Almighty in different languages, and they make the reward of their glorification for whoever calls upon God with this supplication. O Prophet of God, there is no prophet who has not supplicated with this supplication, and no servant who has supplicated with this supplication has anything between him and God but a single veil. He will not ask God for anything except that He will grant it.

And for whoever supplicates with this supplication, God Almighty will send to him, upon his emergence from the grave, seventy thousand angels, each angel holding a banner of light, and seventy thousand servants, each servant holding the reins of a noble steed whose belly is of pearl, its back of green emerald, and its legs of red ruby. On the back of each noble steed is a dome of light, each dome having four hundred doors. In each door are four hundred beds, and on each bed are four hundred mattresses of silk and brocade. On each mattress are four hundred houris and four hundred maidens. Each houri and maiden has four hundred tresses of fragrant musk, and on the head of each maiden is a crown of red gold. They glorify and sanctify God, and they dedicate the reward of this supplication to whoever supplicates with this supplication.

After that, seventy thousand angels will come to him, each angel with a cup of white pearl containing four kinds of drink, water that is not stagnant, and milk that has not Its taste changes, and the wine is the pleasure of the drinkers, and the honey is pure. On top of each dish is a napkin, on which is written: There is no god but God alone, He has no partner. And under this writing is: This is a gift from God Almighty to so-and-so, son of so-and-so, who is diligent in reciting this supplication in the plains of the Resurrection. And all of creation looks at him and says: Who is this? Because of what is around him of boys and maids and a crowd on the noble ones and angels from before him and from behind him, driving him to under the Throne. Then a caller calls out from the Most Merciful: O My servant, enter Paradise without reckoning.

O Messenger of God, any servant who recites this supplication will find his angels weary from recording his good deeds and erasing his sins. The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: “There is no servant from my nation who recites this supplication three times in the month of Ramadan, or even once, that suffices, except that God has forbidden his body from the Fire and Paradise is guaranteed for him. His worth before God is immense and his station is exalted. Whoever recites this supplication, God Almighty appoints two angels to protect him from sins, glorify and sanctify God, protect him from all afflictions, open the gates of Paradise for him, and close the gates of Hell for him.

As long as he lives, he is under God’s protection, and at his death, God has prepared for him what I have described to you.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: “O my brother Gabriel, you have made me long for this supplication.” He (peace be upon him) said: “O Muhammad, do not teach this supplication except to a believer who deserves it, who will not be negligent in memorizing it or mock it. When he recites it, he should recite it with a sincere and pure intention. When he hangs it on himself, he should be in a state of purity, for only the purified may touch it.” The supplication is complete.
